Dana McElroy is a Physician Assistant who since 2005 has made
Indiana, PA her home. Upon graduating from Indiana University of
Pennsylvania (IUP) with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor
in Biology, she received a master’s degree in Food Science from North
Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and started a career in food
safety and public health at Penn State University. While working in
the field of foodborne illness, she became interested in the field of
medicine and pursued a Master’s of Physician Assistant Sciences from
Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA.
During her medical training she completed rotations in family
medicine, internal medicine, behavioral health, general surgery,
emergency medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology. Since
2008, Dana has practiced in the field of cardiology, and now brings
her cardiovascular care experience to IRMC Physician Group (IPG).
Prior to her time with IPG, she used her expertise at the UPMC Heart
and Vascular Institute here in Indiana, PA.
In Dana’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and
friends, traveling and exercising.
