Dr. Benhayon is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist from Knoxville, TN. He received his medical degree and doctorate from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, and he did his graduate school work in developmental neurobiology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Subsequently, Dr. Benhayon completed combined training in pediatrics, psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is board-certified in all three fields.
For the past seven years, Dr. Benhayon has worked in a variety of settings, including the gastroenterology clinic at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the psychiatric emergency room at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and Children’s Community Pediatrics. He has particular interests in sleep disorders as well as the relationship between psychiatric and medical illnesses.
Dr. Benhayon is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and the Sleep Research Society. He holds medical licensure from the State of Pennsylvania Medical Board.
Outside of his professional work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs, friends and family. He is interested in home repair and woodworking as well as fresh and salt-water fishkeeping.
