Dr. Nowak is a board-certified neurologist who is originally from Bucharest, Romania. She received her medical degree from Carl Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania.
Her extensive post-graduate training began with an internal medicine internship at N. Gh. Lupu hospital followed by a neurology residency at the Institute of Cerebrovascular Diseases in Bucharest, Romania. She then moved to Pittsburgh, where she completed an internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Allegheny General Hospital. Subsequently, she completed fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and clinical, surgical epilepsy at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, MI.
During her career, Dr. Nowak has completed thorough research to enhance the field of neurology. She has given six research presentations at society meetings, medical centers, and symposiums. Her knowledge has also aided in the publication of several abstracts and two peer-reviewed publications for the Journal of Neuroimaging and Today's Therapeutic Journal. She has taken extra steps to delve into her field by acting as a sub-investigator for 11 scientific studies involving sleep disorders and seizure therapy.
Accordingly, Dr. Nowak is an active member of the American Epilepsy Society.
Outside of her professional career, Dr. Nowak enjoys music, literature, and travel. Primarily, however, she enjoys spending time with her two sons.
