This program was created to give students the opportunity to apply the classroom knowledge they have learned to real-life applications.

Scope of the Internships:

Marketing 101 (SESSION II ONLY):

As a marketing intern, you will apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as learn about the skills necessary to execute a marketing plan. Your daily tasks will include: support the marketing team in day to day tasks, research and write blog posts that correlate with SEO (search engine optimization), become familiarized physician website platform WordPress, assist in planning direct marketing engagement consisting of email, website, intranet and marketing collateral, and assist in devising strategies to drive online traffic to the organization’s website. You may also learn about reputation management and conversion rates to improve the website. You will be supervised by the marketing manager and will receive feedback and guidance along the way. Applicants will also participate in a research-based project that they will present to conclude their internship.

Inside Scoop of Being a Provider (SESSION I & SESSION II):

Interns will work alongside both executives and clinical staff to form a well balance perspective of what it takes to make a successful practice. Within a 4-week window students will be exposed to compliance and quality processes as they relate to liability and patient quality. Interns will also have an opportunity if they wish to learn how marketing is critical in building a successful practice, and engaging with the patient as a consumer. Clinical skills such as taking vitals will be taught, and applied during the application part of the internship. Interns will have the option to choose which specialty they wish to explore more in-depth. Applicants will also participate in a research-based project that they will present to conclude their internship.

Both of these internships are unpaid, and are for the benefit of the participant.

During your internship you will participate in a small project to dive deeper into concepts you may or may not know of! These may include:

  • MACRA/MIPS
  • PDMP – Provider Usage/Importance Of
  • Quality Metrics – Inside the Science of Reimbursements
  • Policy & Procedures – When do they need to be updated, and what to look out for
  • Identify new marketing platforms – How would you like to be marketed?
  • What’s new in the field? Review new technologies pertaining to your field of interest
  • Using Adobe Suite – Are there any new features?
  • Reputation Manager – What is it? How do we maintain it?
  • WordPress 101
  • Have an idea that’s not listed? Make your own project!

Eligibility:

The Internship Program is for students who are 18 years of age or older by the start of the internship. To be eligible, candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. U.S. citizens may apply if they are enrolled at least half-time in an accredited college or university as undergraduate, graduate, or professional students. Students who have been accepted into an accredited college or university program may also apply. Permanent residents must be enrolled in or have been accepted into an accredited institution or higher education in the U.S. to be eligible.
